InVulnerabilia 2025

On June 12, 13 and 14, at the Palazzo della Borsa, the second edition of “inVulnerabilia. For a Culture of Vulnerability” will be held.

This is a public event aimed at encouraging reflection on the vulnerabilities we face daily and in various ways: from natural hazards to data security, from safeguarding exports to the protection of MSMEs, from personal health to workplace safety, from social marginalization to violence against women.

The method adopted is dialogue and exchange between sciences, institutions, and components of civil society working on the many growing uncertainties.

The intended outcome is the gradual strengthening of a widespread cultural resource — the culture of vulnerability itself — to make society, as a whole, better prepared for the various forms of risk: this objective is part of UniGe’s third mission and is pursued through the University’s Strategic Center for Security, Risk and Vulnerability (srv.unige.it), which organizes the initiative.

The event will take place from Thursday, June 12 to Saturday, June 14 at the Sala delle Grida of the Palazzo della Borsa, kindly granted by the Chamber of Commerce of Genoa.

Thursday, June 12

The day is mainly dedicated to natural hazards and how science studies them to provide a knowledge base for those who must make decisions in emergency situations.

Sessions will alternate addressing flood risk, heat waves, storm surges, considered not only from a scientific point of view but also from the perspective of those intervening to mitigate their consequences.
